19th century folk portrait of a sail ship at sea. Oil painting on board. The red sails are topped by the Union Jack. Two sailors in navy are on board, and land can be seen in the right background. Signed lower right "Leila B____?". In frame it measures 16" x 20.25". The painting shows some craquelure, typical of its age. Otherwise, is in very good condition, and displays exceptionally. The frame is newer, beautifully carved, and extremely well constructed.
