An original oil painting on board by Barclay Lawrence Jacob Rubincam (American, 1920-1978). Backed with an old for sale sign. Titled "North New Street" (West Chester, PA), and it depicts houses along a tree lined dirt road (North New Street). This piece was exhibited at the Chadds Ford Historical Society. It is signed at lower right. Framed in solid wood gold frame. Rubincam specialized in natural and historical scenes of his native Chester County, Pennsylvania and this piece is a great example of that. Artwork in frame measures 30.75" x 26.75". Painting alone measures 24" x 20". Pictured is the paperwork from its sale at Bunch Auctions of Chadds Ford, PA in 2002.

Barclay Lawrence Rubincam (July 2, 1920 – June 24, 1978) was an American artist who painted mostly in a regionalist style. He specialized in natural and historical scenes of his native Chester County, Pennsylvania. His art is held in the permanent collections of the Pennsylvania Museum of Art, the Brandywine Museum of Art, and the Chester County History Center.
