An impressionist style farm landscape by notable artist Cesare A. Ricciardi (American, 1892-1973). A wonderfully done, cheerful piece in blues, greens and yellows. The swirling leaves and side-swept clouds give a great in-motion feel. Signed lower right. The artwork in frame measures 14.5" x 18.5." The painting is in very good, vintage condition. The gold frame is new.
More on the artist: Ricciardi began his formal art studies at the Philadelphia Sketch Club, before enrolling at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he trained under Thomas Anshutz, Cecilia Beaux, Hugh Breckenridge, Robert Henri, and Leopold Seiffert. He later traveled to Paris for further studies.
He was a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club and the Philadelphia Art Alliance. His work was exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy, The Corcoran Biennials, the National Academy of Design, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
