An early 20th century oil painting on board of an American desert landscape, likely California. A beautiful, hushed depiction of a sandy, hilly landscape loomed over by a blue mountain range. Wonderful shadowing and movement created with the swaying desert grasses, and the sand swept terrain. The lower right reads "Drew." This may be Adelbert Peter Raymond Drew (American 1884-1967). Ornately carved gold frame. Artwork in frame measures 10.5" x 12.5". Artwork and frame in very good condition for their age. Artwork has light surface dirt, and one very tiny puncture mark in the board at bottom right corner, otherwise very good.
