Edith Fetherston (American, 1885-1972) oil on canvas painting titled “L’aurore”. Signed and titled on stretcher. This piece was formerly on display at the Packwood House Museum, and will come with the museum placard bearing its title. The art in frame measures 28” x 18”, and the painting alone measures 25" x 15". There is a card on the back that reads “L’aurore. The sun lifting the clouds early in the morning.” This piece is absolutely striking, and incredibly detailed - there are what look to be actual dew drops on the petals of the orchids. The painting is in very good condition, and the original frame is also in very good condition with just a few minor touch ups.
