Vernon Broe (American (Maine / Illinois), 1930-2011) oil on canvas laid to board yacht race seascape titled In Full Glory. Unsigned. Labels from the Bayview Gallery in Camden and Portland, ME on the reverse. Artwork in custom gold wood frame with rope detailing measures 15.5" x 20". Artwork and frame in very good condition.

Traditional marine artist Vern Broe was born in Western Springs, Illinois on July 18, 1930. He studied at the American Academy of Art, the University of Illinois, Chicago’s Institute of Design and the San Francisco Art Institute. Broe moved to Maine where he lived and painted until his death in 2011.

His artwork has appeared in the American Artist, and other magazines, including three covers for Yankee Magazine. Broe has become one of the most noted marine artists in the Northeast, having painted many scenes of Maine and Massachusetts.
